Malling with chicks...

I always spend the weekends with the kids. My two daughters occupy my attention a lot. It was one of those weekends recently that we went to SM Mall of Asia and had some time together.




Joji went to a photography lecture session and we had nowhere to go to while the time away. After a short trip to McDonald's, we went to a little carousel inside the mall. My chicks kept on tugging at my shirt to allow them to ride. In short, I bought two tickets. Their faces were full of anticipation as we queued up for their ride. The queue was not that short so the excitement heightened. When it was their turn to go, they scrambled literally to get on their "horses". With faces beaming with joy and excitement, my money spent for the tickets was already at break even. I took out my N73 and took several shots to keep the smiles etched to memory. ( a digital memory...)








As the wheel started spinning, the smiles turned to wide -mouth-open with glee. Then the horses started bobbing up and down... Then the wheel spun faster and faster until its rated speed. Then, the look on the face of my youngest became so funny that I have to freeze it in digital memory for a lifetime! I struggled with the N73 as I found out that the shutter cannot be that fast with the existing lighting condition. Focus was not so fast either. I waited and pre-focused and when they rounded the turn, snapped it! This is the best shot I got out of several tries. My kid was clinging to the pole like she's holding on for dear life! Her face was a mixture of excitement and fun and fear! How do you mix those? Well, she said she'd want to do it again so there might be a sequel to this blog...

Bagong Milenyo

I typed wrongly I guess. The title should be Bag"y"ong Milenyo. What a storm it was! This was a time when we huddled together as a family and joined together in beautiful worship and thanksgiving because of God's protection throughout the storm.

The next day, September 29, 2006: People fixing roofs... or what remained of them.

Alabang Town Center was not excused. The Acacia tree at the center of the amphitheater fell too.

But all in all, thanks be to God who protected us from the power of this storm. Sometimes, He sends difficulties for us to remember that we are but so small and that we cannot be independent of Him who made us.
